  • Publishing the second Edition of 2025

    17-10-2025

    In the first week of October, the second issue of the Revista de Ciências Agroveterinárias (Journal of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences) was published, consolidating the new editorial format that will be adopted in all upcoming editions.

    The new model expands the information presented in the articles, including data availability, references to ethical codes, acknowledgments, funding statements, and other relevant elements that promote transparency and scientific reproducibility.

    Starting with this issue, all articles are being published exclusively in English, aiming to broaden the journal’s international visibility.

    The XML markup for the first issue has already been made available, while we await feedback from the company contracted by UDESC regarding the delivery of the XML markup for the second issue.

    Regarding the third and fourth issues, we are still awaiting the Portuguese-to-English translation from a specialized company contracted by UDESC. Therefore, the third and fourth issues are scheduled for publication by the end of November.

    While the PDF versions in both languages will be made available by the end of November, the XML markup for these issues is expected to be released only in early 2026, due to the closure of the fiscal year.

    Starting in 2026, the journal will adopt a continuous publication flow and the ahead of print system, expediting the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Additionally, a more rigorous control of the number of published articles will be implemented, with the goal of enhancing the quality and impact of the contributions.

    We appreciate your continued support and for being part of the Revista de Ciências Agroveterinárias.

  • Publishing the first Edition of 2025

    06-08-2025

    In the first week of August, the Revista de Ciências Agroveterinárias (Journal of Agroveterinary Sciences) will release its new edition, inaugurating an editorial format that will be adopted in all upcoming publications. New submissions must already follow this model, facilitating typesetting and ensuring greater standardization.

    The new format expands the information presented in articles, including data availability statements, references to ethics codes, acknowledgments, funding sources, and other relevant elements. From this edition onward, all articles will be published in English, aiming to increase the journal’s international visibility. Manuscripts may still be submitted in Portuguese, and UDESC may cover translation costs, provided that the request is made in the cover letter.

    Another innovation is the adoption of XML markup, in line with the requirements of indexers and with the goal of improving editorial quality. Still in 2025, the second and third editions are scheduled for release by early September, and the fourth edition by the end of October.

    Starting in 2026, the journal will adopt a continuous publication workflow and an ahead of print system, accelerating the dissemination of scientific knowledge. In doing so, the number of articles published will be more carefully managed to enhance the quality and impact of contributions.

    Thank you for being part of Revista de Ciências Agroveterinárias (Journal of Agroveterinary Sciences)

  • Special Issue: Animal Production and Sustainable Rural Development: approaches that contribute to the growth of the Brazilian agriculture

    30-04-2023

    The Special Issue: "Animal Production and Sustainable Rural Development" aims to create a space for discussion, reflection and dissemination of knowledge about animal production, reproduction and conservation. In this, we seek to bring together works that discuss and report livestock and agriculture as diversified activities that influence the socioeconomic sector and regional development. This context comprises productive, technological, social, and environmental studies, as long as they benefit the rural space; concern for environmental quality and rational use of natural resources will be differential.

    The following topics guide this special issue (but not restricted to):

    Animal production and sustainable rural development: a growing sector in the economy that requires sustainable practices;
    Innovation and technologies in animal reproduction: productivity expansion and increased efficiency in the reproductive process;
    Conservation, Morphology, Cytogenetics, and Animal Reproduction: morphological studies through basic anatomy, diagnostic imaging, and cytogenetics, in addition to studies on taxonomy, systematics, biology, behavior and interspecific and intraspecific interactions of zoological groups;
    Agroecology and production chains: views of the peasantry, biodiversity and sustainable production of plant and animal products;
    Animal health, epidemiology, pathogenesis and control of animal diseases and food microbiology: studies in diagnosis, epidemiology, pathophysiology, control, treatment and prevention of diseases that affect domestic and wild animals.
    Management and conservation of natural resources: studies in ecology, agroclimatology, soil science, hydrology, land use and planned agriculture.
    Use and conservation of fishing resources: conservation policies, studies of perception and environmental monitoring of the ichthyofauna present in the aquatic environment (fresh and salty).

    Based on these suggestive themes, we invite researchers (students and professors) to contribute by submitting their work.

    Guest Editors: Thiago Machado da Silva Acioly, Diego Carvalho Viana (Universidade Estadual da Região Tocantina do Maranhão)

  • Special Issue: Importance of Research in Agriculture

    30-04-2023
    The 1st Plant Production Symposium is a scientific event organized by students and by the coordination of the Graduate Program in Plant Production (Center for Agroveterinary Sciences (CAV) / Santa Catarina State University (UDESC)).
    The presential event aims to disseminate new scientific advances and innovations in the agricultural sector to undergraduate and graduate students, companies in the productive sector, teaching and research institutions, rural producers and technical assistants.
    This year, the event will address the theme: "Importance of Research in Agriculture", and will feature the publication of scientific papers in different thematic areas.
    The scientific committee will select the best works submitted at the event for publication in the format of a scientific article, in English, in the Revista de Ciências Agroveterinárias (translation costs paid by the event).
    Non-awarded expanded abstracts will be published in the event's Annals.
