Editorial Team of the Revista de Ensino em Artes, Moda e Design - Roles and Functions

Editor-in-Chief
Ethical responsibilities:
1. Impartial Review: the Editor-in-Chief must evaluate submitted manuscripts without discrimination based on race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, region, political or ideological position. It is essential not to be influenced by personal or commercial interests, according to COPE guidelines.
2. Confidentiality: maintain the confidentiality of all information about submitted works, except for the reviewers and the editorial team. This ensures the integrity of the review and publication process.
3. Publication Decisions: the Editor-in-Chief has the final responsibility for deciding which works will be published, using clear and consistent criteria aligned with the journal's guidelines. Reviewer evaluations should be considered but are not binding.
4. Ethical Use of Information: do not use information from submitted manuscripts for personal research without the authors' explicit written consent.
5. Conflict of Interest Management: decline the evaluation of manuscripts when a conflict of interest exists, whether competitive, collaborative, or of any other nature.
6. Handling Complaints: receive and investigate complaints about ethical issues or incorrect content in submitted or published manuscripts, taking appropriate measures in accordance with COPE recommendations.
Management Responsibilities:
1. Editorial Policy: in collaboration with the Editorial Board, the Editor-in-Chief establishes and reviews the journal's editorial policy.
2. Process Management: oversee the flow of submissions, peer review, and publication through the Open Journal Systems (OJS3), ensuring efficiency in the editorial process..
3. Submission Administration: receive, register, organize, archive and monitor all submitted manuscripts, whether under review or accepted/rejected.
4. Reviewer Selection: choose and appoint reviewers, whether members of the Review Board or ad hoc, for manuscript evaluation.
5. Similarity Check: conduct similarity checks on submitted articles, using specific software, and provide reports to support decisions regarding the originality of the texts..
6. Communication and Administration: facilitate communication between authors, reviewers and the editorial team, and maintain contact with other journals, higher education institutions and funding agencies.

Editorial Board
1. Policy Review: participar

1. Policy Review: actively participate in the review of the journal's editorial policy, addressing scope, procedures and ethical issues.
2. Improvement Proposals: suggest actions to enhance editorial processes and journal quality, aligning with COPE guidelines and high-impact journal standards.
3. Collaboration in the Selection of Themes: Propose and analyze themes for thematic issues of the journal.
4. Article Acquisition: collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief in attracting new articles and author contributions.
5. Maintenance of Scientific Quality: Ensure the scientific quality of the journal and prioritize ethics in all activities carried out.

Advisory Board
1. Qualidade Científica: to ensure the scientific quality of the Revista de Ensino em Artes, Moda e Design, ensuring that editorial standards are maintaineds.
2. Thematic Dossier Suggestions: to propose thematic dossiers and their respective contributors for future editions.
3. Dissemination: to promote the journal at scientific events and among peers, increasing the visibility and impact of the publication.
4. Ad Hoc Review: to participate in ad hoc reviews when requested, contributing to the editorial process.

Supporting Editors
They are responsible for supporting the Editor-in-Chief in the journal's management processes:
1. Process Management: oversee the flow of submissions, peer review and publication through Open Journal Systems, ensuring efficiency of the editorial process.
2. Submission Administration: receive, register, organize, archive and monitor all submitted manuscripts, whether under review or accepted/rejected.
3. Layout and metadata corrections:  work on checking and correcting the layout of the issues and collaborate in checking and correcting incorrect metadata. Additionally, assist in the dissemination and updating the journal's maintained social media platforms.

Reviewers
Reviewers play a crucial role in selecting texts to be published in the Revista de Ensino em Artes, Moda e Design. They must follow the established ethical and quality guidelines:

3. Compliance with Deadlines: reviewers must strictly adhere to established deadlines to ensure the smooth functioning of the editorial process.
4. Ad Hoc Evaluation: conduct ad hoc reviews when requested, contributing to manuscript evaluation.
