Abstract

The following text is a reflection on the experience of creating the photographic catalog “Mapping.sensibles: photography in the Visual Arts course at URCA”. This project mapped the artistic production of students carried out during the workshops of the subjects “Photography I” and “Photography II”, throughout the first ten years of existence (2008-2018) of the Degree Course in Visual Arts at Universidade Regional do Cariri – URCA, and constituted a device to debate photography and studio practices as a way of thinking in the artistic field. To this end, I divided this article into “The catalogue”, “Mapping” and “Sensitive”.

Rubens Venâncio, Universidade Regional do Cariri

Sou fotógrafo, pesquisador, professor do curso de Artes Visuais da Universidade Regional do Cariri (URCA), mestre em Sociologia (UFC), doutor em Artes (UFMG) e pós-doutor em Comunicação (UFC). A partir da ideia de poéticas do esquecimento realizo trabalhos artísticos sobre desparecimento e resistência por meio da fotografia, abordando arquivos, ruínas, sertões, álbum de família. Realizei duas exposições individuais e participei de vários festivais e exposições coletivas no Brasil. Atualmente coordeno o coletivo "uaná | fotografia, pesquisa, poéticas (URCA/CNPq), componho a coordenação do FotoKariri (Festival de Fotografia), organizei o livro "Mapeando.sensíveis: a fotografia no curso de Artes Visuais da URCA" (Editora Caseira, 2020) e publiquei o fotolivro "Iminências" (Editora Caseira, 2022). @rubens_venâncio | @uanafotografia
