Abstract

A conversation between two South American travestis about the travesti power to reinvent languages and futures. In times of collapse, we can only exist as birds, because we don’t ask permission to be, because we are invention and urgency. We inherit the rebellion of those who came before, honor their memories, and plant seeds for those yet to come. We create mirrors, multiply words, forge new paths, and that’s why we’re dangerous. We’re dangerous because we refuse the world as it’s given to us, writing new possibilities with our bodies, as maps of resistance, as living archives that dismantle this world’s certainties. We write, sing, and dance like dangerous birds who dream and shout the desire to keep dreaming.

Author Biography

Joanna Leoni, Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina

Travesti Artista visual, Escritora, Professora e Pesquisadora, residente em Florianópolis/SC. Vem expondo seus trabalhos na cena municipal, estadual e nacional desde 2018. Mestra e Doutoranda em Artes Visuais, na Linha de Pesquisa "Processos Artísticos Contemporâneos" pela Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina - UDESC. Membra do Grupo de Pesquisa Proposições Artísticas Contemporâneas e Seus Processos Experimentais. Graduada em Artes Visuais pela Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB). É membra da Comissão de Ações Afirmativas do Centro de Artes, Design e Moda da UDESC e do Colegiado do Núcleo de Diversidades, Direitos Humanos e Ações Afirmativas da UDESC. Constrói a TRAMA - Coletiva Trans UDESC, é Professora Voluntária do Preparatório TransViades, para ingresso de pessoas trans na pós-graduação.
