Para isto, cartas, escritos doutrinários e pronunciamentos públicos produzidos por ambos foram comparados entre si, e á luz do pensamento do positivista francês Augusto Comte - a cuja doutrina Vargas aderia. Parte da pesquisa documental foi realizada na cidade de Buenos Aires, onde também foram entrevistados historiadores argentinos, cuja colaboração facilitou a contextualização do ambiente histórico do período em estudo. Procurando se afastar do conceito de populismo enunciado pela sociologia clássica, recusa os seus pressupostos de alienação popular e manipulação das massas por parte de grupos dominantes. Sob uma perspectiva teórica vinculada á Antropologia Cultural, investiga-se a provável existência de um sentimento popular anti-ilustracionista na Argentina anterior a Perón, a partir do discurso fundador do modelo de Sarmiento, Civilização e Barbárie; por um lado, e de uma construção ideológico-discursiva do positivismo social entre os políticos gaúchos ligados a Getúlio Vargas, pelo outro. Ambos os governos seguiram uma política de conciliação de classes, da qual Perón se afastou em momentos de declarada hostilidade entre setores sociais, entre os quais a Igreja Católica. A leitura das fontes aponta para a mestiçagem das idéias, por processos de circulação e apropriação, sob uma perspectiva na qual as fronteiras são construções históricas. Looking for to move away from the concept of Populism enunciated for classic sociology, it refuses its estimated of popular alienation and manipulation of the masses on the part of dominant groups. In accordance with theoretical perspective of Cultural Anthropology, it is investigated probable existence of a popular feeling in Argentina before Perón, from the founding speech of the model of Sarmiento, Civilization and Barbarity; and of an ideological-speech construction of the social positivism it enters the politicians on gauchos the Getúlio Vargas. Both the governments had followed one politics of conciliation of class, and Perón if it moved away at moments of declared hostility between social sectors, between which the Catholicism. The reading of the sources points with respect to the mixture of the ideas, for processes of circulation and appropriation, in accorded with the perspective in which the borders are historical constructions.
