of specialization in the area. In journalism, the areas of specialization
are a “reection” of the “thematic cycle” or “ow of themes” between
the media that seeks to meet demands present in society, responding
to crossings of social elds (Tavares, 2011, p. 159), although it
can also be associated with media, practices, language, audiences,
consumption habits, among other aspects.
One of the studies shows how fashion journalism can be
understood as a hybrid discourse genre, consisting of strategies
from journalism, advertising, and aesthetics (Elman, 2017). From
journalism, by activating strategies of novelty, topicality, veracity,
didacticism, specialized sources, authority, and normativity to fulll
its purposes. From advertising to magic, idealization, personalization,
and gurative language. As for aesthetics, scenography, colors,
scale, formation of sets, style, rhythm, and typography, with the
dominance of journalistic discourse that governs the dynamics of
other discourses (Elman, 2017, p.283).
Seduction, novelty, advisory ethos and descriptive strategies
are also recurrent (Figueiró, 2017). Other main characteristics are
the supremacy of the image, referential text, foreignism, neologism
and the dilution of interpretation and opinion in the text (Flores,
2018, p. 45).
In Brazil, fashion journalism would be distinct from fashion
journalism, as the former explores the movements of the phenomenon
or the fashion industry factually with language and resources typical
of daily journalism, in addition to being aimed at a broader audience
(Flores, 2018, p. 45). Fashion journalism is specialized journalism
in the fashion area, with its own peculiarities and text and image
specications, requiring a high level of knowledge from journalists
in related areas such as art, cinema, behavior, trends, and history
“[…] to unveil and adequately communicate the universe of fashion
to the public – also specic” (Flores, 2018, p. 46). Specialization was
the focus of research in Spain that defends, in fashion journalism,
capabilities, skills, attitudes, technological resources, and specic
ethical-professional characteristics (Vásquez, 2015).
These specicities materialize in formats classied as trend,
