Abstract

Creativity has long been associated with talent, genius, inspiration, and even mysticism. Today, however, it is recognized as an essential skill not only for human development but also for the sociocultural progress. In this context, creativity is understood as a complex and multidimensional phenomenon influenced by individual, environmental, social, and historical-cultural factors. In the educational field, its incorporation into international discussions is relatively recent, and it has increasingly been valued as a strategic element for both the preservation and reinterpretation of traditions and the promotion of innovation, cultural production, and social development. In the contemporary scenario, technologies such as generative artificial intelligence intensify debates on creativity and broaden reflections on the possibilities of collaboration between humans and technologies in the processes of creation, teaching, and knowledge transmission. Therefore, this theoretical and reflective study, with a qualitative approach, conducted a bibliographic review based on the analysis and interpretation of national and international scientific publications on creativity, culture, tradition, innovation, education, and generative artificial intelligence. The objective was to analyze how creativity has been addressed in the educational context, highlighting its potential to connect tradition and innovation in the age of generative artificial intelligence. The results indicate that fostering creativity constitutes a fundamental element for contemporary societies, enhancing students’ ability to mobilize knowledge, experiences, and cultural repertoires in the construction of new possibilities. It is concluded that, in the era of generative artificial intelligence, this process becomes even more relevant when accompanied by an education grounded in ethics, critical thinking, and the responsible use of technologies.
